About Goldyears

Helping People Feel Ready for Retirement, One Folder at a Time

We started Goldyears because too many people reach retirement with no clear picture of what they have, where it is, or how to find it quickly. That is a problem we can help with.

Our Story

Goldyears was established in Bangkok in 2019 by a small group of people who had each spent years helping older family members and friends navigate the paper trail that comes with getting older. Pension statements tucked into envelopes. Insurance documents in different drawers. Copies of ID that nobody could find when they were needed. The problem was always the same: too much paper, no system, and no clear starting point.

What began as an informal series of Saturday workshops at a community centre in Silom grew into something more permanent. People kept asking for more sessions. They brought siblings and spouses. They came back a year later to check their systems were still working. It became clear there was real appetite for this kind of calm, practical, non-commercial support.

Today, Goldyears runs three structured programmes from our base on Silom Road, serving English-speaking residents and expatriates across Bangkok. Everything we do remains purely educational. We help people understand, sort, and store — nothing more. The result is a filing system someone can actually find things in, and a sense of calm that comes from knowing your records are in order.

Our Principles

  • Start where you are

No system is too messy to begin from. We work with what you have.

  • Stay in our lane

We are educators, not advisors. We share knowledge, not opinions on what you should do with it.

  • Respect and patience

Retirement planning can feel personal. We move at the pace that works for you.

  • Your documents stay with you

We never hold, copy, or store any of your personal records. Full stop.

Our Standards

The things we commit to in every session and every interaction.

Personal Data Protection

We collect only what is necessary to manage your booking and communicate with you. No data is sold or shared with third parties.

Educational Boundaries

All sessions strictly cover information organisation, filing, and record-keeping. We do not stray into financial, legal, or medical guidance of any kind.

Participant Feedback

Every session ends with a short written feedback form. We review responses regularly and use them to keep content clear and relevant.

Accessible Format

Printed materials use large, clear type. Pacing is adjusted to suit participants. Written summaries are available after every session.

No Sales Environment

Sessions contain no upselling, no partner referrals with commissions, and no product placements. The focus stays on the material.

Updated Content

Session materials are reviewed twice a year to reflect any changes in common document types, storage formats, or filing best practices.

Document Organisation for a Calmer Retirement

Retirement brings a lot of paper. Pension summaries, benefit statements, identification documents, property records, insurance policies — together they form a detailed picture of a lifetime. The trouble is that picture is often scattered across shoeboxes, email inboxes, and filing cabinets in several countries. Goldyears exists to help people bring those pieces together into a single, sensible system.

Based in Bangkok's Silom district since 2019, we work primarily with English-speaking residents and long-term expatriates living across Thailand. Our sessions are practical, calm, and entirely educational — we are not qualified to advise on pensions, finance, or law, and we make that clear from the start. What we can offer is a clear method for understanding what you have, where it lives, and how to find it quickly when someone else might need it.

Good record-keeping is a form of care — for yourself and for the people around you. That is the idea behind every Goldyears session.
